Does anyone use Twitter? I'm trying to decide if it is worth exploring for Tri Local. I can't seem to find many people in Rutherford County who are already on Twitter - so not sure who my audience would be. Any thoughts would be appreciated!
Kerry, I would hang on to Twitter for now and see what happens. I'm not a huge fan of Twitter, but it may become something. Google is in the process of possibly acquiring Twitter so i want to see what happens with that.
Kerry, Twitter seems to be most effective when used in a rapidly changing situation, such as coverage of a news event or even something that changes daily.

The TriLocal Initiative is a partnership of the merchants associations & municipalities of Forest City, Rutherfordton & Spindale, & Rutherford County government, the EDC, & Tourism Development. It is an outgrowth of the study conducted that revealed that over $600 million in retail sales is spent outside Rutherford County by residents annually. The Initiative will include programs & workshops, promotion, web presence, & working to leverage large purchases. The logo is a Trillium or TriFlower that has three leaves and is a native plant to Rutherford county. It represents the cooperation of the three towns in this endeavor.
I attempted to use it but like you, found not many local connections. MySpace and Facebook have both proven to work well for me.
ReplyDeleteI use Facebook for personal and business purposes. I also use a Blog but have no interest in Twitter.
