Several upcoming events that folks should be aware of and support.

This Saturday, January 30 from 4:30-6:00 pm, the Union Mills Learning Center will sponsor a spaghetti dinner complete with salad, bread, drink and dessert - all for just $6 for adults and $4 for children age 12 and under. There will also be entertainment by STAND - the home-schooled children of the area.

If you didn't have the opportunity to attend last year and want to have a great fruit and vegetable garden this year, be sure to reserve your spot in the 2010 Sustainable Horticulture School, which begins Saturday, February 6th. The Spring semester runs through March 27th (8 consecutive Saturdays) with classes from 1-5 pm each day. The cost is $80 per person with some scholarships available for unemployed and displaced workers. Call TODAY - 828-288-6150 or e-mail anna@foothillsconnect.com for complete details. A sure sign Spring is around the corner!

The new conference center will be the center of attention at Hospice on February 12th. The goal of this fundraiser/marketing event is to raise money for Hospice as well as to make the public aware of their new facility. Tickets are presently available at the Center for only $10! You will be treated to a wonderful meal prepared by the Hospice chef, along with music to dine by. This event is open to the public!

Be sure to double check your events for this weekend before you leave the house; with the weather "experts" predicting a rather wintery mix for Saturday, many events may be cancelled and rescheduled!

If you have to run out and stock-up on food for the predicted snow - you may want to take your coupons and head to Ingles! This week they are offering triple couponing, which means a 50 cent coupon now becomes $1.50!! This offer runs through Saturday, so check their ad and use your coupons for all those Super Bowl snacks!

Happy Shopping!
