The TriLocal Initiative is a partnership of the merchants associations & municipalities of Forest City, Rutherfordton & Spindale, & Rutherford County government, the EDC, & Tourism Development. It is an outgrowth of the study conducted that revealed that over $600 million in retail sales is spent outside Rutherford County by residents annually. The Initiative will include programs & workshops, promotion, web presence, & working to leverage large purchases. The logo is a Trillium or TriFlower that has three leaves and is a native plant to Rutherford county. It represents the cooperation of the three towns in this endeavor.
